We have great news to share with you! The new NDA Career Center has officially launched!

On behalf of the NDA Board, we would like to thank Oliva Bane and John Hagel for taking the lead on this project and working through a number of issues to get the Career Center back up and running.

Thank you for your patience while we transitioned to the new NDA Career Center.

The new Career Center can be found under the Job Posting link listed under the Members section on the NDA home page.

If you have any questions on how the process works, please click on the Help button located at the bottom of the NDA Home page, which will allow you to click on the Job Posting FAQ or contact us with any questions or issues.

Please keep in mind: Only NDA members can search for jobs, which of course is an added benefit for being a member of the NDA. If you decide to apply for a job posted, you will not be required to create a separate account. You will use the same login and password as your NDA member account. If you decide to apply for a job, this activity will be listed under your account in the Career Center.

All employers and/or any NDA members posting a job, will need to create a separate employer account to post the job. If you are already a member of the NDA and need to also post a job, a different email address will need to be used when creating the employer account. Once the job has been posted, you will have access to your employer account and will be able to track activity related to that job posting.

Each posting costs the following: $250 for a 30 day job posting and $400 for a 30 day sponsored job posting. The benefit of purchasing a sponsored posting is that it will anchor your posting to the top of the search results at all times.

NDA Annual Outstanding Achievement Award Nominations: Open Season!

The Board of Directors is proud to again offer the opportunity to nominate yourself, or another NDA Member for the NDA Outstanding Achievement Award. This award is presented annually to an individual member recognized for outstanding achievements in leadership and professional development.

The Board is looking for a member that has at least three years of legal experience, engaged in the docketing related profession, and achieved outstanding accomplishments in personal and professional development that contributed to the visibility and advancement of the docketing profession. The NDA Board of Directors will vote on the winner and the recipient will be announced and receive his/her award at the annual conference.

As you are aware, Chris Gierymski has stepped down as President of the Association in order to pursue other career opportunities. We are grateful to Chris for his service and devotion to the organization since its conception in 2010, its formal incorporation in 2011, until his resignation in 2014. He has played an enormous role in making this organization what it is today, and we wish him success in his new endeavor.

In accordance with the NDA’s Bylaws, Kara Looney, currently our Executive Vice President, will fill the remainder of Chris’s unexpired term as President. The Board has also appointed JoAnn DiSanti to succeed Kara as Executive Vice President.

With transitions come challenges, but Kara, JoAnn, and the rest of the Board are committed to continuing the NDA’s tradition of excellence and value to our members. We are busy planning the 2014 Annual Conference so we can once again bring you interesting and exciting speakers, new educational opportunities, and a chance to grow your professional network.

Update on NDA Annual Conference

The first annual conference was held in Chicago and attended by almost 140 people. Everyone had a great time and learned so much from industry experts and members. The board of directors extends a big Thank You to all those that attended and all the sponsors that made this first unique event such a huge success. We will be publishing post conference presentation materials and photos in the next few days. A survey will be sent to all attendees and sponsors requesting feedback on their experiences with the conference and how we can make it even better for next year. Participation in the survey is extremely valuable to the NDA and its members. Can't wait until next year's event, most likely in Chicago again.

This award will be presented annually to an individual member recognized for outstanding achievements in leadership and professional development. It will be the top honor a member can receive from the NDA.

Introducing Group Bundles

We are pleased to introduce group bundles for easy and cost effective membership management. A membership bundle is a group of members who are linked together by working for the same firm or company and managed by one of their members – the bundle administrator. Bundle members share the same renewal date, status, and membership level.

Group bundles are perfect for firms or legal departments with many qualifying members. There is a cost savings involved when applying for group membership. The groups are as follows:

Up to 10 Full Members - $200 (cost savings of $50)
11 to 20 Full Members - $350 (cost savings of $150)
More than 20 Full Members - $500 (unlimited cost savings)

The bundle administrator is responsible for adding and removing members to the bundle. When it is time to renew the group membership, an invoice is emailed only to the group administrator. It is a great way to manage your staff memberships and budgets.

Please note that group membership is only offered to qualifying FULL MEMBERS. All members of a group must qualify as Full Members.

If you are a current member and are interested in creating and managing a group membership, send an email to chris.gierymski@nationaldocketing.org stating the name of the group admin and the names of all current NDA members to be added to the group. The group will be created and its renewal date will be set to the date of the member with the soonest renewal date. If you have any questions, please contact Chris Gierymski.

Member Photo Albums

All members now have the ability to create photo albums as part of their profile. This feature enables members to upload photos relating to their work, staff, personal life, social events, etc.

Hopefully this will create a more social environment for our association. Sustaining members and sponsors can use this neat feature to display images of their products or photos of their associates.

NDA Reaches Milestone

We are proud to announce that the NDA has reached a milestone in our membership. In 5 short months we registered 200 full members that perform docketing duties in some capacity or are responsible for the docketing function. That is a great accomplishment and we will not stop here. Congratulations!

Litigation and IP Training

We are looking for training opportunities related to basic and advanced docketing workflow processes in Intellectual Property and Litigation practice areas. We envision the trainers will have experience in these areas and be able to provide web based training to our members on set schedules or perhaps recorded and on demand.
