History

On May 12, 2011, a brainstorming meeting was held at the Chicago office of DLA Piper LLP (US), hosted by Chris Gierymski.  About 30 people attended the meeting in person as well as 65 via WebEx presentation.  The need to form the NDA was overwhelmingly decided that day.  Soon thereafter an initial board of directors was formed, which included Chris Gierymski, Kara Looney, Beth Crawford Hella, Igor Olenich, Jennifer Larson, JoAnn DiSanti, and Lynn Hood.  On December 8, 2011, the NDA was incorporated in the State of Illinois.  It is classified as a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization.
